Fruit fly traps, 2013 blown glass, digital print on transparency, apple cider vinegar, foam core.
Fruit-fly traps in bespoke blown glass and transparent cones with maps of areas in Los Angeles currently undergoing gentrification.
ABOUT Fruit fly Traps:
Fruit flies are attracted by the apple cider vinegar and fly into the map-cones where they are trapped inside the bespoke glass vases. The areas represented in the maps are of Highland Park, Eagle Rock, and Glassell Park, which in the summer months also have a lot of fruit flies.
